Game Management
2014 Greater Cincinnati Youth Lacrosse Rules
A. Game time for all levels of play will be 10 minute running quarters, 2 minute intervals between quarters and 5 minute half times. No Over time.
B. No Horn for side line out of bounds, teams will substitute through the box area. C. Two timeouts per half for each team. Time outs are allowable with possession of the ball
anywhere on the field and dead ball situations. D. No counts leaving the defensive or entering the offensive zones. The 4 second count will be in
effect for the goalie and defender with possession of the ball in the crease. E. No stick checks at the youth level. F. Alternate possession will be in effect. If the ball becomes stuck in the mud or an extended
ground ball scuffles, stop play and award the ball by alternate possession. G. Face offs: Face offs will be conducted after each goal and the beginning of each period. If a team has a 4 goal lead or more, the team behind will be awarded the ball at mid field until the margin
is under 4 goals, coach can waive this requirement if he wants to. Equipment
A. Protective cups are required, coaches are responsible to ensure their players are legally equipped by rule. Goalies are required to wear arm pads. Mouth guards shall be worn at all times on the field, penalize any player who is not wearing his mouth piece, this is a SAFETY ISSUE.
B. Stick Lengths 3rd/4th grade 37 -42 inch crosses for all players. 5th/6th grade 37-42 inch crosses, 47-54 inch crosses for D Players.
C. If the goalie loses any part of his equipment, stop play IMMEDIATELY. If a player on the field has possession of the ball and loses any part of his equipment stop play. Any player who might be injured on the field, stop play.
D. Game balls must include the label “Meets NOCSAE STANDARDS”. If the game balls do not have this label do not play the game.
Legal Body Conduct
A. Body checking at the 3rd/4th grade is 1 step or less contact. Contact at the 5th/6th grade level will be 3 steps or less.
Penalties
A. NO TAKEOUT CHECKS/EXCESSIVE BODY CHECKS ARE ALLOWED AT ALL. B. ANY CONTACT TO THE HEAD/NECK IS ILLEGAL, THE PENALTY WILL BE A 2-3 MINUTE NON-
UNRELEASABLE PENALTY. C. UNNECESSARY ROUGHNESS PENALITIES WILL BE A NON-RELEASABLE PENALTY. D. SPEARING (LEADING WITH THE HELMET) WILL BE A 2-3 MINUTE NON RELEASABLE PENALTY. E. BODY CHECKING A DEFENSELESS PLAYERS( BLIND SIDE HITS, PLAYERS PLAYING A LOOSE
BALL WITH THEIR HEAD DOWN, A PLAYER WHO HEAD IS TURNED AWAY TO RECEIVE A PASS) PENALTY WILL BE A 2-3 MINUTE NON RELEASABLE PENALTY.

Enforcement
F. ANY ONE-HANDED CHECK SHALL BE CONSIDERED A PENALTY WHETHER OR NOT IT MAKES CONTACT WITH THE OPPOSING PLAYER.
G. UNSPORTSMANSHIP CONDUCT: Any coach or player who receives (2) USC fouls will disqualified for the reminder of the game. Fighting is an automatic ejection. If you eject a player for fighting or eject a coach for conduct, I need to know ASAP after the game.
H. A player who accumulates 4 personal fouls or 5 minutes in personal foul time shall be disqualified for the reminder of the game.
I. The F… BOMB is not allowed period.
A. Penalties at the 5th/6th grade will be time serving penalties. Penalty clock time will start when you blow the whistle to start play again.
B. Penalties at the 3rd/4th grade will be enforced utilizing the FAST BREAK RULE. Teams will stay at full strength, the player committing the foul will leave the field and be replaced by another player.
C. Mid fielder from the offended team will be awarded the ball at midfield and given a 5 second advantage. The rest of the midfielders will line up behind the midfield line. You will blow the whistle to start the play, count 5 seconds then verbally release the remaining midfielders.
