Become a Referee

The SOLOA provides training for individuals interested in becoming a boys lacrosse official for both the Youth and High School levels.

Adult Officials Training

High School Training sessions are held for prospective adult referees prior to the start of each lacrosse season in early January. You can check out our home page for the latest information on (Insert Link to Calendar page).

If you are interested in becoming a Youth Official, complete the request form and be sure to select Interested in Officiating. Our recruiting team will reach out to you and help you navigate the process.

Additionally, SOLOA holds training classes in late summer or during the fall season (depending on demand).  Completion of this training qualifies the trainee to officiate both High School and Youth boys games. 

Note: High School level officials must be at least 18 years old and have graduated high school.

Youth Officials Training

The SOLOA provide USA Lacrosse certification to youth officials in the Southern Ohio area.  Classes are offered during the late summer/early fall.  No classes are offered in the spring or summer.  

Youth officials must be USA Lacrosse members at least 15 years.
